Player1 Events assisted Mojang in running Minecon: a fan event dedicated to one of the largest games ever published. Minecon brings fans together with their favourite content creators, and the developers of their favourite game modes. In our time running the event we’ve taken it over to the USA, and even brought it world wide with dedicated viewing parties.
We assisted with all aspects of the planning; from design of the show, theming, supplier and talent management, ticket sales, promotion and marketing.
We also took control of running a large scale esports tournament with a live finals on the Minecon Earth stage, streamed to thousands worldwide via the viewing parties.
For Jagex, their community is key. It was this feeling that lead them to create an event devoted to thanking the fans and the game they love. Runefest is a fully immersive event, turning plain convention halls into landscapes pulled straight from the game, with many fans following suit and turning up to the event in highly detailed costumes. The show is filled with content: from The Night Before party; to an activity based treasure trail; and all important Developer and Community talks on the Main Stage. Alongside this, key community influencers run tournaments and interactive crowd segments.
Player1 Events ran full project management of Runefest, sourcing the vast amount of theming the event requires, along with helping the event move into larger and larger venues as demand increased. We also handled full operation and broadcast management, including live filming and streaming.
2 days, 350 delegates, covering keynote sessions, breakout classrooms, exhibition hall and evenings over multiple sites.

Launching in November 2016 Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon were Nintendo’s biggest ever UK launch., selling double the numbers of Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire in 2014.
The UK launch party for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon was done in style by Player1 Events. We handled the transformative theming, attendee catering and walkabout characters, along with providing a retail solution for the game. Selected members of the Pokémon community and press were invited down to the Old Truman Brewery in London, arriving to a Hawaiian themed paradise, representing the ingame location of Alola. Attendees could get hands on with the game a day before its world wide release, along with meeting the creator of the title.
In 2015 we hosted a three week, multisite roadshow promoting Xbox One consoles and new game releases in the lead up to Christmas. The tour included product hands on activities with key titles to encourage customer engagement and retail to drive peak sales. The hugely successful event travelled from Birmingham Bullring to London Stratford, two of the highest footfall shopping centers in the south.
